Outreach & Fellowship Ministries
First Lutheran has many ministry opportunities for you to reach out and help your neighbor - whether that's within the congregation, the community, the state, or the world as a whole.
HATS (Helping Another To Smile)
Ladies and Gentlemen, young and not so young! HATS meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday morning donning our hats and we will call on members that are homebound, in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, the elderly and new members. For more information call: Lee Krull at: 234-5625 or Betty Heiliger at: 224-0255
LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF KITS & QUILTS
Pens and pencils, a toothbrush, a quilt … ordinary items we take for granted become treasures in the hands of their recipients. The items you send will be cherished and used by people who take nothing for granted, for whom even a simple bar of new soap is special.
Your gifts of time and resources are beautiful expressions of God’s love and grace to those in greatest need. Thank you for your partnership in putting them together.

In addition to financial support, volunteers can offer to bring meals on Sunday evenings to students, help with the annual Thanksgiving meal, or contact the Campus Lutheran office for more opportunities. PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
A prayer shawl is a simple wrap knitted or crocheted with love and prayer to be given to someone in need. They are given away to comfort the sick and grieving or to celebrate milestones and achievements. Members of the prayer shawl knitters/crocheters bless each shawl individually. These shawls are meant to bring comfort to the wearer and serve as a reminder of god’s constant presence. First Lutheran’s Prayer Shawl Ministry meets Wednesdays 6:30-8:00 pm in the FLC Café area. If you knit or crochet and are interested in becoming a part of this ministry, or would like to donate supplies to make the Prayer Shawls, please contact Theress Bricker at 308-234-6924 or Carol Bosshardt at 308-224-3734.
